Diving Questions

When is the best time to see whale sharks?

Whale sharks are present year-round in South Ari Atoll, but peak season is May-November. We have sightings almost daily during these months. Manta rays are more common December-April.

Do I need to be certified to dive?

For regular dive trips, yes - you need at least Open Water certification. Beginners can join our Discover Scuba program or take a SSI course. Some advanced dive sites require Advanced Open Water certification.

What dive equipment do you provide?

We provide tanks, weights, and weight belts free with all dives. We have high-quality rental equipment (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins) available. All equipment is regularly serviced and maintained.

How many dives per day do you do?

We typically do 2 morning dives (7:30 AM departure) and 1 afternoon dive (2:00 PM departure). Full-day trips include 3-4 dives. We follow safe diving practices with appropriate surface intervals.

Courses & Training

How long does a SSI Open Water course take?

The standard SSI Open Water course takes 3-4 days. This includes theory sessions, pool training, and 4 open water dives. We offer flexible scheduling to fit your holiday plans.

Can I do a SSI referral course?

Yes! We accept SSI referrals from any dive center worldwide. Just bring your completed referral paperwork and we'll complete your open water dives in our beautiful Maldivian waters.

Do you offer Advanced Open Water courses?

Yes! Our Advanced Open Water course includes 5 adventure dives (deep dive, navigation dive, and 3 electives). Popular electives include night dive, wreck dive, and underwater naturalist.

Is there an age limit for diving courses?

Minimum age for SSI Open Water Diver is 10 years old (Junior Open Water). 10-11 year olds must dive with a parent or professional. 12-14 year olds must dive with a certified adult.

Safety & Health

What are the medical requirements for diving?

You need to be in good physical health. Some medical conditions (heart problems, asthma, etc.) may require doctor's clearance. We provide medical forms - please complete them honestly for your safety.

How many divers per guide?

We maintain a maximum 4:1 diver-to-guide ratio for regular dives, and 2:1 for beginners or challenging conditions. Our small groups ensure personalized attention and safety.

Do you have oxygen and first aid on board?

Yes! All our dive boats carry comprehensive first aid kits and emergency oxygen. Our staff are trained in emergency first response and DAN oxygen administration.

What if I get seasick?

We recommend taking seasickness medication 1-2 hours before the trip. Our boats are stable, but if you feel unwell, let our crew know immediately. Most people feel better once in the water.
